Are you a graduate student–Masters (thesis stream) or Phd in your final stage of edits? Do you need to re-energize and make substantial progress in writing your thesis in order to maintain momentum?
The VITAE Office and the Faculty of Graduate Studies are committed to helping you succeed! We have secured spaces for the upcoming Lake Shift Writing Retreat (hosted by Queens University).
The Lake Shift is a thesis writing retreat for graduate students from Ontario universities. The five-day writing retreat will take place in July 2018, at the Queen’s Biology Station on Lake Opinicon (a 50 minute drive north of Kingston).
The retreat provides graduate students with structured time to write, workshops on tips for effective dissertation writing, opportunities to network with other graduate students and all in a beautiful location.
The Lake Shift retreat includes swimming, boating, hiking and campfire conversations and make for a balance of the cerebral with the physical and social for a well-rounded experience.
If you are nearing your final stage —- please submit a statement of interest explaining how you would benefit from this experience. Students must be responsible for transportation.
Please note that there are only shared accommodations — which means that you will most likely be ‘bunking’ with students from other universities.
Call for applications will open early 2018
